La Salvacion, Chihuahua State

The La Salvacion project is located in southwestern Chihuahua state, approximately 40 kilometers southeast of GoldCorp Inc.’s El Sauzal gold mine. The land package consists of five mineral concessions totaling 150,000 hectares. The mineral concessions are situated in the historical Morelos Mining District, a region displaying broad zones of intense hydrothermal alteration and a multitude of small, artisan-scale mine workings.

Grass-roots exploration undertaken by Chesapeake has generated several significant targets.

Cerro Parralito

Three different polymetallic mineralized prospects have been found along a 5 kilometer long portion of a regional-scale structural lineament that dissects the Tertiary volcanic rocks. One channel sample returned 11 meters of 131 g/t silver and 0.42% zinc. The presence of high grade silver-copper mineralization (grab chip samples with grades > 800 g/t silver and 10% copper) in fault fractures at `Cerro Parralito` suggest the possible existence of a large, disseminated, porphyry-style mineralized body at depth.

San Lazaro

The mineralized system identified and defined so far at `San Lazaro` extends for more than 500 meters along a northwesterly striking corridor with widths up to 50 meters. An initial rock channel sample cut returned 30 meters of 0.2 g/t gold and 188 g/t silver.

Chapotes

The Chapotes prospect is centered across an area of old mine workings found in eroded portions of the granodiorite intrusive stocks. Preliminary grab samples have returned spectacular grades up to 67 g/t gold and a kilo of silver.
